Mission of the National Centre for Radiation Protection in Health Care:

The mission of the National Centre is to ensure the protection of patients against the dangers arising from the uses of ionising radiation for medical purposes.

Major Goals:

The National Centre for Radiation Protection in Health Care has been established to coordinate and monitor activities related to the implementation of radiation protection system in Poland. This system is to ensure safe use of ionising radiation for medical purposes.

Increasingly newer technologies are used in medicine therefore the National Centre has been obliged to carry out regular work on implementation of the current recommendations of the European Commission in the field of patient radiation protection into the Polish legal system. The Centre also carries out scientific and information activities, and disseminates training materials dedicated both to specialists and general public.
