Tasks:

1. Performing physical measurements and tests for the purpose of patient radiation protection, including inspection of physical parameters of radiology equipment and auxiliary devices;
2. Providing substantive support to the activities of the organisational units of the State Sanitary Inspection in the field of quality control of radiology equipment;
3. Cooperation with the national accreditation body in the meaning of the provisions of the Act of 13 April 2016 on compliance assessment systems and market surveillance (Dz. U. of 2019, item 544) in the field of checking physical parameters of radiology equipment;
4. Providing substantive support to national consultants involved in investigating circumstances and causes of unintentional and accidental exposures;
5. Participating in committees appointed to investigate circumstances and causes of unintentional and accidental exposures;
6. Analysing circumstances and causes of dosimetry errors and accidents resulting from radiology equipment failure;
7. Organising comparative measurements for laboratories performing tests in the field of control of physical parameters of radiology equipment;
8. Conducting pilot studies prior to implementation of new measurement methods.
